A FEW OUT-OF-ORDER BALL PICTURES, my apologiessss...
Cat made a lovely fairy and had such a pretty crown.
Josh, the Dblock boy who invited me into their silly, little, freshman world. I decided they're like the Lost Boys who are clearly in need of a Wendy.
Libby and Megan are my friend Samantha's "academic daughters" who live in Sallies with me.
Aleshia, Elizmary, and Jennifer are all here from Baylor and have become my typical lunch and dinner dates :)
BACK TO THE CORRECT ORDER, i think...

A little collage I made for myself, featuring some pictures (ones I frantically grabbed about 15 minutes before I had to be at the airport) and a prayer I wrote up that Katie Bering sent me about being in a new place. It's very beautiful.

My room! (On a pretty clean day... hahaha). Does not look at all like that at the moment :(

Also- block girls especially- notice the cleanliness of the desk, which I actually SIT AT here! I know, it's crazy the stuff you do in other countries...

This is the very beautiful common room where people play beautifully on the piano!

And the lovely dining hall where we eat, very Harry Potter, no?
Golf was invented here! So you see it works its way into hotel names and such...
A view of the town from the beach near the Old Course.

Snowy day! This is the pretty street along the Sea where the Castle resides.

According to it's sculptors, this is a snow geologist and his dog. The dog was so cute!

We had some very impressive ones out in front of Sallies (what the cool kids call St. Salvator's).

The quad looking lovely with its own snowmen.

Snow-covered Sallies.
FAIRYTALE BALL NIGHT!

woooo. I decided, if necessary, I could tell people I was Rapunzel :)
Blowing kisses to Prince William who lived here during his first year and is thus featured in the 2001-2002 hall picture, lower left.

The string quartet made a lovely welcome to the Ball.
So did the a cappella boys! A very-fairytale couple, if I do say so myself.
The dancers were lovely, their stomping made the floor shake.

The whole crowd, oohing and ahhing no doubt.
Me and Cameron, one of the American D-block boys.
Ceildh dancing! This one is SOOOO much fun and called "Strip the Willow."

Nick, the headboy!!! So precious.

Then I stole a crown, probably not my finest moment. But I left mine back in the States, CLEARLY a mistake.
Sara, Tobias, and I. The first time he wore jeans in his life was last Tuesday, for charity. His grandmother disapproved when he was a child.
James actually dressed as a knight. He slayed a dragon or two before the night was through.
Clearly I needed a picture with a boy in a kilt. Neil was so kind to accommodate.

BUS TOUR TO LOCH LOMOND!

The Bus Company was called "Haggis Adventures" and had Wild & Sexy on the bus... very strange, but hysterical.

Our first stop was the Wallace Monument in Stirling- that's Stirling Castle off in the background on the hilltop, which is actually a dormant volcano!
The MONUMENT! It was a very beautiful day :)
View from the monument, where Wallace stood after defeating the English at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Crazy, drunk, naked, blue-painted highlanders ran out of the mountains. In their attempt at retreating over the bridge, the English broke it and were basically trapped, many throwing themselves into the River, chainmail and all... not the greatest escape strategy.
Wallace himself, telling the English to go back to their own country.

such a manly man.
so, so, so pretty!

Doune Castle! where the coconut, monty python scene occurred? (I don't remember much about the movie, but that is what our tour guide told us).

At this point, a friend from the States turned to me and said "Doesn't this look kind of like Pensylvania." I agreed that it certainly did... except we don't have Castles :)
Loch Katrine!

Cristina and I tried our best to keep the hair out of our eyes for the picture.
I recommended some rock-climbing... lost my shoe momentarily but it was definitely worth it!
I also inspired a trend! woooo.
I was sad that I wasn't on the rock with them.
So I found my own and then donned myself "Lady of the Rock," inspired by "Lady of the Loch," the little cruise ship that takes you about the water.
Loch Lomond! It's the largest loch in area, with 30 miles of coastline.
We did our best to find the cave where Rob Roy McGregor hid from the English.
This may have been it... or it may not have been? Difficult to say.
The girls I adventured with, snapping pics.
The "Scottish Alps" in the background. Magnificent and snowy-peaked.
I temporarily turned into a crazy, highlander.... it was a little wild.
Then I morphed back, don't worry.
